Lock replacement and repair in Riga
A sticking key, a stiff mechanism or a cylinder that needs replacing after keys are lost can require different solutions. We assess repair and replacement based on the lock model and door condition. You may also want to change access after moving into a property. The first step is to establish the problem and agree the appropriate work.
Arrival time depends on your location, traffic and availability.
Repairing or replacing a mechanism
A key that is difficult to turn does not always mean the entire lock needs replacing. The locksmith assesses the cylinder, lock body and door mechanism. Sometimes a part can be replaced; other cases need a compatible mechanism. Before buying a lock yourself, send photographs and any model information, because incorrect dimensions may prevent installation. If the door still opens, describe how the lock behaves with it open and closed, without forcing the key. The mechanism is checked after work, and warranty terms are agreed beforehand.
How to request help and prepare
Call the locksmith directly or send photographs through WhatsApp or Telegram. Describe the fault, give your address and explain how urgently you need access. Photograph only what helps assess the mechanism; copies of identity documents are not needed for an initial price enquiry. The locksmith will clarify the information required, possible scope of work and arrival time. A photograph helps with preparation but does not always reveal an internal mechanical fault. If an inspection reveals a different problem, changes are discussed before additional work begins.
Prices and call-out conditions
Lock repair or replacement labour starts at €20, plus the lock and parts. Opening an already locked door is assessed separately if required.
Labour, travel and time supplements are separate parts of the price. Call-out costs €10 in Pardaugava, Imanta and Zolitude, or €20 in Bolderaja, Vecmilgravis and the rest of Riga. Travel outside Riga is agreed individually. The evening supplement from 18:00 to 21:00 is €70; weekends and public holidays carry a €70 supplement; the night supplement from 21:00 to 07:00 is €120. When several conditions apply, only the highest supplement is charged. This does not replace the travel charge. Necessary parts are agreed separately and the total is clarified before work.

The mobile service covers Riga, Jurmala and the Riga area around the clock. Arrival depends on your address, traffic and the locksmith’s availability and is agreed when you contact us. Before work, we need to check your right to access the property or vehicle. Identification and evidence of your right of access may be needed. If your documents are unavailable, explain this in advance so verification can be discussed. Customers are not received at the registered address: work takes place at the customer’s location.
Questions about this service
Are parts included in €20?
No. This is the starting labour price. A lock, cylinder or other parts are agreed separately, as are travel and the time supplement.
Must the whole lock be replaced?
Not always. Repair or cylinder replacement may be possible, depending on the fault, mechanism and door construction.
What should I photograph?
Send the lock, visible model markings and the door edge if it opens safely. Explain when the fault occurs and avoid forcing the door.
Is the work covered by a warranty?
Warranty terms for repair and replacement are agreed before work, taking account of the scope and the parts being installed.
